National Pool Lifeguard Qualification and Water Safety Ireland Assistance and Full Teachers Qualification

National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) The NPLQ is the most awarded lifeguard qualification in Ireland and the UK and is internationally recognised. More than 46,000 pool lifeguards qualify with the RLSS every year, and there are currently over 90,000 lifeguards holding the NPLQ.

Water Safety Ireland – Assistant Swim Teacher Qualification This qualification is the first step into swim teaching. It prepares candidates to support qualified teachers on poolside, assist with lesson delivery, understand core aquatic skills, and gain hands‑on experience in a structured teaching environment.

Water Safety Ireland – Full Swim Teacher Qualification The Full Teacher qualification enables candidates to independently plan, deliver, and assess swimming lessons. It is widely recognised across Ireland and provides a complete pathway for those wishing to teach swimmers of all ages and abilities.
